Excerpts From Debbie’s Blog

Not surprisingly, WOMMA (Word of Mouth Marketing Association) has mastered the new marketing mix when it comes to promoting their next conference: a site, a blog, RSS feeds, podcasts, email updates and a companion e-newsletter all rolled up into one at www.womma.org/wombat/. Looks like the only thing missing is a wiki [added: and more women speakers!]

Word of Mouth Basic Training is Jan. 19 - 20, 2006 in Orlando, FL. Sounds fun and they've got some great speakers lined up.

InthisissueDoes Your Company Belong in the Blogosphere? is the title of a solid article that was posted this week to Harvard Business School's Working Knowledge site. References all the usual suspects from GM's Bob Lutz, to Boeing, Sun Microsystems, Jonathan Schwartz's blog and Stonyfield Farms. It's re-printed from the paid subscription Harvard Management Communication Letter.

Backstory: I gave author and business writer Katherine Heires a quick jaunt through the corporate blogosphere when she called me. And was lucky…

p.p.s Naked Conversations, NevOn, and NewPRWiki also get scores of…

From Shel Holtz: GM isn't censoring Fastlane

From Stephen Davies: Should the GM blog address layoffs?

From Dave Taylor: Further discussion about the GM Fastlane blog

Ohhh... Dave Taylor and I are having fun over on BusinessBlogConsulting.com, the group blog we both contribute to. Check it out. Read the comments below Dave's post ("GM FastLane Blog begins to reflect the troubles of the corporation?") for our back and forth volley on how GM's Fastlane blog should be handling the giant automaker's giant financial woes. I say, give them more time to sort out how to allude to this elephant. As I wrote:

"Blogging is an imperfect, messy tool strategy. And it's going to be adapted and will evolve as more and more companies use…
